NOTD: Diamond Cosmetics Hi Ho Silver

Hello everybody!

This is Hi Ho Silver bij Diamond Cosmetics. I'm wearing three coats, it was okay with 2, but I wanted the colour to be a bit darker so I went ahead with a third coat.

It's a very pretty greyish purple colour!

I'm sorry application is kinda messy, I'm still using the ultra slow drying topcoat. I really shouldn't use it anymore, but I really like the consistency of it!

NOTD: Eyeko Indigo Polish

Hello everybody!

Today's NOTD is an Eyeko polish; Indigo polish (for sultry nails). I know I already posted a swatch of this, but I just wanted to wear this colour ^^
I'm really into blues lately and I think this might me my favorite of the Eyeko polishes I have!

I'm wearing three coats. Two could've worked as well, but I didn't wait long enough between the first en second layer so I had some smearing.

Picture time!

Pretty right? :D
It's really shiny, shimmery and reflective in sunlight, but otherwise it's very pretty too! (first picture)

Essence SOS Nail Repair Pads: Part 3

Hello everybody!

Again, a post without pictures, sorry!

I decided to give the Essence SOS nail repair pads another try. The nail of my thumb was cracked. My thumb nail is very thick and absolutely not flexible in any way (for example, I can “fold” the nail of my pinky without any problem). So it doesn’t crack fast, but once it’s cracked it’ll break off very easily.

I wondered if the nail repair pads could handle this. Put them on, 2 coats of nailglue, and then just my regular polish.
Two days later my nail broke off. I took something out of my schoolbag, don’t really know exactly how it happened, but it slipped out of my hand and as a result my nail broke off. So the pads didn’t really help with “saving” my nail… I filled my nail down so it would look better, but I didn’t take the pad off, because I didn’t had the time to do that.

Also I found that the pads let go off the nail easily. After 5 days, it started to peel off around the cuticle area. I could rip half of the thing off without any effort. Maybe it’s because of the glue? I used the Essence SOS glue.

I don’t really like this pads as they don’t work for me. I followed the instructions so I don’t think I did something wrong. Do you have any experiences with these pads and were that better experiences? Please let me know, because I really like the idea of the pads!

Busy, busy, busy...

Hello everyone,

I know I haven't been posting this week, I'm sorry!
It's just that I have been busy with school and work. Normally I would post something today, but I have to work from 12.30 - 21.30 so I can't find the time to do my nails, take pictures etc. :(

In 6 days it will be 1/10, which means I haven't bought nailpolish in a month! (Except for Space Cadet... But that was absolutely necessary!!) I'm already looking around for polishes I want to order. I'm thinking some Zoya's and Nubar's, since I don't have any of those brands.

About my nails, I did go for the french tip. Actually, I really liked the idea of wearing a nice taupe colour. But I was thinking: "I dont have any taupes...", so I went on and did my nails. And of course, right after I was finished I thought about the Eyeko Posh polish, but oh well, this was fine too ^^
I don't have any pictures of it, and at this moment it's too ugly and has too much tipwear to make a picture of it, hope you understand ;)

Well, thanks for reading and I'll be back as soon and as often as I can!

A running post

Hello everybody!

So today no nailpolish, or beauty post. This is a post about running!
On sunday september 21st, there was an event in Amsterdam and Zaandam, "dam tot damloop". You could choose between 10miles (16,1 km) and 4miles (6,4km). And yes, I participated!

I did the 4miles business run. I work at the Albert Heijn, and I joined through them (after somebody talked me into it!). I'm not really into sports. I'm not good at it. Soccer, basketbal, hockey, baseball, I suck at them all. But I do like running. I feel like that's a sport I can be good at, and it clears my mind, which is always nice ;)

I didn't really had any training, so I chose the 4miles just to be sure. When the Dam tot Damloop was around 8 weeks away, I went to the gym and started running on the trend mill at 10km/h. I stopped after 20-25 minutes. I planned to go every week. But of course, I didn't. The Dam tot Damloop came really close, so I forced myself to go again. I started running at 10,5km/h for about 20-25 minutes.
My last "training" was two weeks before the run, and I pushed myself to run at least 30 minutes at 10,5km/h. And I did, I ran 5545 meters that time. (Including warming-up for 2 minutes)

And then it was sunday. We almost started to late, because I kinda got lost... But we made it anyway!
The time flew by... And before I knew it, the finish was in sight! My time was 35:37 minutes with an average speed of 10,78 km/h. I'm proud of myself that I made it without walking, and under 45 minutes (I wanted to be under 45 min no matter what :P). I finished as 306th out of 1094 people. So, you could say I became 3th out of 10 right? Haha.

Now I feel addicted to running. I want to run more, become better and faster. But, I never run outside. I'm afraid people will look at me weird. Also, I don't have running shoes. Should I put my fears aside, buy some running shoes and just go for it?

And just to make a fool out of myself, here's a picture of me during the run! I'm the one in the blue and white shirt (Ahold shirt :P), on the right side of the picture. You might have to click the picture to see me.. If you dare, haha
Hmm, I tried clicking and it wouldn't work. So click here for a fullsize picture :P

Hope you enjoyed this post anyway! Thanks for reading!

NOTD: Nfu.Oh 60

Follow my blog with bloglovin
Hello everybody!

I was going through my Nfu.Oh's, and I noticed I haven't showed #60 yet, so here it is! This is one coat of #60 over 2 coats black creme polish.
I could've done 3 or 4 coats of the nfu.oh, but I found this to be easier.

Maybe you're thinking: "hey, this reminds me of #38?" Well, it's kinda the same, but also kinda not the same... haha. Click here for my NOTD with #38.
As you can see, 38# has more flakies in it, also the #60 is darker and doesn't show yellow/green as much as #38. The orange tone is also darker with #60.

I have a question for you... This friday I will go to an important accountancy firm. It's called PriceWaterhouseCoopers, maybe you've heard that name before? :P
It's with my school, but it's important to leave a good impression, because it might be possible to do my internship there. So I was thinking to do a french tip, or just go "naked" if I don't find the time to do one.
What do you think? Am I worrying too much?

Thanks for stopping by!

Review: Mosaic Brilliant Topcoat

Hello everybody!

Remember the Topcoat I ordered with the Nfu.Oh Package? Today it's time for the review! I used it with every manicure since I received it.

The bottle. Looks the same as the Seche Vite bottle :p Nothing special here.

My results after 5 days... I applied this polish (space cadet :D) on monday evening, and I took the pictures on friday evening.
I worked 2 0f these 5 days. For my job I need to open a lot of boxes, and I admit, I do use my nails as tools. I know, I'm bad, but it's so handy!
Also, I always apply topcoat when the polish is dry. It's just my routine. I will do one hand with polish, then the other hand, and then I will apply topcoat. So most of the time, the polish is already dry.

Left hand:

Nothing too bad on my left hand. Minor tipwear, nothing big.

Right hand:

My right hand is slightly worse, but when I think about it, it just makes sense. I use my right hand a lot more than my left hand. Basically, I can't do anything with my left hand haha.

So, it lasts quite good for me!
Also, it applies easily. It's a really thin topcoat, like water. This makes it easy ánd tricky to apply. When you have a little too much on the brush, it would just drip off your brush onto your hands and/or working area. But if you're careful, this shouldn't be a problem.

Now drying time.. It dries to the touch fairly quickly. When I'm done doing my right hand, the polish on my left hand is already dry. Almost sounds perfect right?
But, here it comes, I found one big problem with this topcoat. It takes FOREVER to dry completely. It wouldn't be the first time that I decide to go to the toilet of whatever, when it's been around an hour or so after I applied to topcoat. And what happened?
The nailpolish got dented, wrinkly, half of it was gone... For me, this never happened to me before this topcoat...

This could've been my favorite topcoat, if it weren't for the drying time. They also have a quick dry one, maybe that one's better? Hmm..

That's it for my review, let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for reading! :)

Review: Essence Strawberry Nailpolish Remover

Hello everybody!

Today I'm doing a small review of the Essence nailpolish remover, the nail hardening one.

Yes, the bottle in the picture is empty, but that's because I transferred it to my remover dispenser ;)

So, what it says it does:

I don't really think it helps me with strengthning my nails, but overall I have pretty strong nails so I didn't bought it for that reason. I just wanted to have a nice smelling nailpolish remover! Lol.
When I first smelled this I didn't like it at all. Very chemical and weird... But when I used it, I started to like it! I was done doing my nails, and I smelled something on my hands.. Something sweet and candylike. I couldn't figure it out, but then it hit me... It was the scent of the nailpolish remover! So, in my opinion it smells nice when you use it, but when you smell it from the bottle, it's just weird...

The bottle comes with a big.. Hole? Thingy? I don't really like big ones, because I always put way too much on my cotton pad. But on the other hand, it is nice for cleaning up with a brush, you just dip your brush in it and you're good to go!
(I'm using a different nailpolish remover for my clean ups btw)

This works fine for me. Not good, not bad, just normal. Removes polish as it should do. What I do like about this one, is that it makes my nails feel super soft. With some (non acetone) removers, I experienced getting very dry nails.

Overall I like this product. I would buy it again, not only for its price (€1.29), but also for it scent, and it works as it should ^^
I think I'm going to buy an other when this one runs out, maybe the one with the coconut scent? I have yet to decide! haha

If you have any questions, please let me know! Thanks for reading :)

NOTD: Orly Space Cadet

Hello everybody!

Here it is, my NOTD with Orly's Space Cadet! This is the last Cosmic FX I have.
Of course the past two days were rainy cloudy days, so I couldn't take pictures in full sunlight, but oh well ;)

Now just a lot of pictures, watch and enjoy ;) (Hopefully! haha)

Bottle pic:

These pictures were taken when I was wearing this polish for 3 days, and I have little to no tipwear. The Mosaic topcoat, which I ordered together with the Nfu.Oh's, really impresses me. I'm thinking about writing a review about it, but I don't think I can show you week's result, because I never wear the same nailpolish for a week.. hmm

Well, that's it for today's blogpost, thanks for reading! :)

Collection Part 3: Barry M

Hello everybody!

Today I'll show you my Barry M collection. Barry M was the brand that started my addiction. At first, I wasn't really interested in nailpolish. I was 18 when I really started getting into nailpolish.
A friend of mine showed me an online store, Alice & Jo's have essentials. This is a Dutch online store.

Of course, I looked up what I ordered, and I ordered 4 polishes on september 23th, 2009. So that's when it started!

Limited Edition pink, Bright pink, Flamingo Pink, Coral, Bright purple, Vivid purple, Burgundy, Red Wine.

I think Flamingo Pink is my favorite. It a pink/coral polish, very pretty!
I also have the 3 in 1 polish, basecoat, nailhardener and topcoat, but I forgot to take a picture of that one.

Thanks for stopping by!

NOTD: Catrice Blue's Brother

Hello everybody!

Today's NOTD is Blue's Brother by Catrice. This is 2 coats.

It's a nice blue colour with lighter blue/greenish duochrome-like effect. Yes, I suck at explaining colours! In the pictures it looks mostly blue though, but in some lighting it's visable.

The bottle:

Blue's Brother applied very nicely. I only bothered to do a clean up on my ringfinger, the other fingers are "freehand", so it does apply very easily and evenly!

Thanks for reading :)

My baby has arrived :D

Hello everybody! :D

It has arrived! :D :D Space Cadet is finally here! There were some problems with the transport company-thing, TNT. But It's here :D

Picture time!

I can't wait to try Space Cadet on my nails! But of course, I painted them yesterday, and I think I won't be able to find time to change it up till tuesday. So before I'll show you a NOTD with Space Cadet, there will be an other NOTD ;)

The labels are kind of weird, Galaxy Girl has a different one... Saw this on other blogs too, so I guess it's "normal" :P

Thanks for reading!

NOTD: Out of this World

Hello everybody!

This is Orly's Out of this World! It's a dark polish with purple shimmers in it. In the bottle it has some brownish/goldish"fx", but that doesn't show up on the nail at all! :(
But still, I think it's a very pretty polish, I love purple!

Do you see the effect in the bottle?

Picture with flash:

And the bottle pic:

Excuse the tipwear, was wearing this for a few days, can't remember exactly when I put this on.. lol.
Of course it's disappointing that the effect doesn't show up on the nail, but I'll love this polish anyways!

Still no Space Cadet though :( I emailed the company today, I'll keep you posted!
Thanks for reading :)

My addiction with buying polishes

Hello everybody!

I haven't been able to take pictures this week, so I'll just make a small blogpost today ;)
I think I buy nailpolish every month. Everytime when its "pay-day", I will order some nailpolish right away. This "hobby" of mine, costs me too much money, so I decided to buy no nailpolish in this month. I only ordered Space Cadet, and that's it (Don't say I already failed! :P).
I'm already looking around what I want to buy on the first of october lol! I think I will buy something from Zoya, I'm still missing that brand in my collection!

Space Cadet was shipped out on the 6th, so I should've had it yesterday. But it wasn't there. And today, it wasn't there either.
I don't know why, but I'm really scared my package got lost in the mail or something. I even asked our delivery guy (saw him in the streets :P) if he had something for me, but nope, nothing. If I don't receive it by tomorrow, I will email the store, maybe they can track it down for me.
I hope my precious space cadet isn't lost!

I'm wearing Out of this World at this moment, but I have to leave for work soon so I can't take pictures. I will try to take pictures tomorrow (let's hope for some sunshine!), but there will be some tipwear in the pictures since I wore it for a few days already.

So that's all I have to tell you for today, thanks for reading!

NOTD: Orly Lunar Eclipse

Hello everbody!

Today I'll show you the second polish of the Orly Cosmic FX I'm wearing; Lunar Eclipse! This is a gorgeous blue colour which flashes purple when the light hits it. But of course, it almost only shows blue on the pictures. But trust me, the purple is there!

I really like this colour. I'm getting more and more into blues lately. It's extremely sparkly and kind of reflective too! I think this might be my favorite out of the ones I have... Of course, I don't have Space Cadet yet, so we'll have to wait for my final judgement haha!

Bottle pic:
Do you see the purple? :D

Thanks for reading! :)
