Review: FragranceX.com

Hello everybody!

Today I'm going to do a review of an online fragrance store: Fragrance X. I've ordered four times from them now already!

The box. Normally there should be a white paper on it, stating the value and everything, but it was ripped off? The other three times when I ordered, the white paper was on there, and stated the actual value. So if you don't want to pay import duties, you should avoid buying the more expensive fragrances.

The packaging, very simple, nothing fancy here. Just the fragrance you ordered with some bubble wrap around it.

And my fragrance! It came in safe and sound ^^

I like to order some fragrances from this website because sometimes it's way cheaper than it is in the store! Shipping is basically always free, just enter the "coupon" code FREE, and there will be no shipping costs! Always a big plus (and it explains why the packaging is so minimal!)

That's it for my quick review, if you have any questions, please let me know!
Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Review: Garlic basecoat?

Hello everybody!

Yes, you see it correctly, there are pieces of garlic in my nailpolish! I first saw this on a Dutch blog; beautygloss.nl. I had a problem with breaking nails and I'm always willing to try new things! So I bought some clear nailpolish, mixed in some garlic, shook it up, let it sit for a week and then used a whole bottle of it.

The bottle on the left is newly made, the bottle on the left is old. As you can see, I used almost all of it. The garlic has gotten a bit dark, but that's fine. The polish has gotten a bit thick, and I'm not good at getting the last of it out, so I just made a new bottle!

But what did I think of it?
At first, I didn't think it would work with preventing breaking nails, and I didn't think it would make my nails stronger. But it did! My nails didn't break as much anymore, even with my job at the supermarket, my nails could handle it!
And then I stopped using it, and my nails started to break again. At that moment I decided to make a new bottle of it.

Maybe it's placebo or something, but for me it actually works!
Your nails will smell like garlic, but that's only noticable if you stick your fingers in your nose... And during the day you will wash your hands, so the smell will wear off. It didn't bother me even once.
It didn't stain my nails, I was afraid of that, but fortunately it didn't happen!

Bottom line: I like it!
If you have any questions, please let me know! Thanks for stopping by today :)

YesStyle Review

Hello everybody!

Here's my small review of YesStyle.com!

First, the packaging and the invoice:
It was packaged in a plastic bag, nothing special here. But there is something special about the invoice... Just look at the value ;).
The reviews I read about high values and import duties were mainly from Canada, so maybe the rules for Canada are more strict than the rules for the Netherlands? I don't know, all I know is that I didn't have to pay import duties because the value on the package is lower than €22.

Inside the plastic bag was another plastic bag.

And my sweaters! I also got a free gift, a blue coin purse.

It looks different on me than on the model, mainly because the model is.. smaller... than me. I'm not sure, but the ends of the sleeves may be different, but I can't really tell from the modeled pictures.
But the sweater is true to the modeled picture in my opinion. It's soft on the inside and feels nice and warm!

I feel like the sweater is a lot shorter than on the modeled picture. Or the model is just really really short. I'm 1.60cm (5'3" or 5'4"? Don't know for sure in inches) and that's considered short here.
But overall, I like it. This one's really really soft! I would've liked it better if the sweater was longer, but it's okay like this too :)

That's it for my review! If you have any questions please let me know!

Essence Nail Fashion Stickers: Part 2

Hello everybody!

Here I am again with the Essence Nail Fashion Stickers. This is after work:

^ Left hand

They held up better than I expected. I expected them to fall of, but they are all still there. You can see that the colour started to wear off, this is because I have to open a lot of boxes during work, so my nails "suffer" a lot.

^ right hand

More damage than on the left hand, maybe I didn't press the stickers as hard as on the left hand, or maybe it's because my right hand is my dominant hand.

I think these would stay on fine if you don't work a lot with your hands. But I don't know if they will last 5 days as the package is advertising. It's still a piece of paper, and what if you're going to wash your hands with these on? Won't they soak off?
It was a fun experiment, but I prefer regular nailpolish. I like the idea of these stickers, but they just don't seem to work for me. I like the designs, but I don't think I will ever buy a new set. I would like these a lot more if they didn't feel so paper-like.

Maybe the Incoco ones are better? If I come across those, I will definitely give them a try!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Essence Nail Fashion Stickers

Hello everybody!

Today I tried the Essence Studio Nails; nail fashion stickers. Here's the result:

Yup, not that pretty... The stickers couldn't quite handle the curve of my nails, that's why they are wrinkly at the sides.

I had some problems with filing the excess of. You can't really tell from the pictures, but it looks like I have some tipwear, my file removed some of the colour from the stickers...

I don't like these stickers. They annoy me, it really feels like you're taping a piece of paper onto your nails. Maybe it would work for people with "flatter" nails, I don't know.
Also, the sizes weren't really perfect for my nails, the stickers are to small for my nails, just look at my ringfinger...

I'm forcing myself to keep this on, because I have to work tomorrowmorning. I want to see how the stickers will handle it. I expect them to fall off or something, they don't seem to stick very well to my nails. We'll see tomorrow!

That's it for today, make sure to come again tomorrow for my final verdict on these stickers!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Review: Mosaic Brilliant Topcoat

Hello everybody!

Remember the Topcoat I ordered with the Nfu.Oh Package? Today it's time for the review! I used it with every manicure since I received it.

The bottle. Looks the same as the Seche Vite bottle :p Nothing special here.

My results after 5 days... I applied this polish (space cadet :D) on monday evening, and I took the pictures on friday evening.
I worked 2 0f these 5 days. For my job I need to open a lot of boxes, and I admit, I do use my nails as tools. I know, I'm bad, but it's so handy!
Also, I always apply topcoat when the polish is dry. It's just my routine. I will do one hand with polish, then the other hand, and then I will apply topcoat. So most of the time, the polish is already dry.

Left hand:

Nothing too bad on my left hand. Minor tipwear, nothing big.

Right hand:

My right hand is slightly worse, but when I think about it, it just makes sense. I use my right hand a lot more than my left hand. Basically, I can't do anything with my left hand haha.

So, it lasts quite good for me!
Also, it applies easily. It's a really thin topcoat, like water. This makes it easy ánd tricky to apply. When you have a little too much on the brush, it would just drip off your brush onto your hands and/or working area. But if you're careful, this shouldn't be a problem.

Now drying time.. It dries to the touch fairly quickly. When I'm done doing my right hand, the polish on my left hand is already dry. Almost sounds perfect right?
But, here it comes, I found one big problem with this topcoat. It takes FOREVER to dry completely. It wouldn't be the first time that I decide to go to the toilet of whatever, when it's been around an hour or so after I applied to topcoat. And what happened?
The nailpolish got dented, wrinkly, half of it was gone... For me, this never happened to me before this topcoat...

This could've been my favorite topcoat, if it weren't for the drying time. They also have a quick dry one, maybe that one's better? Hmm..

That's it for my review, let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for reading! :)

Review: Essence Strawberry Nailpolish Remover

Hello everybody!

Today I'm doing a small review of the Essence nailpolish remover, the nail hardening one.

Yes, the bottle in the picture is empty, but that's because I transferred it to my remover dispenser ;)

So, what it says it does:

I don't really think it helps me with strengthning my nails, but overall I have pretty strong nails so I didn't bought it for that reason. I just wanted to have a nice smelling nailpolish remover! Lol.
When I first smelled this I didn't like it at all. Very chemical and weird... But when I used it, I started to like it! I was done doing my nails, and I smelled something on my hands.. Something sweet and candylike. I couldn't figure it out, but then it hit me... It was the scent of the nailpolish remover! So, in my opinion it smells nice when you use it, but when you smell it from the bottle, it's just weird...

The bottle comes with a big.. Hole? Thingy? I don't really like big ones, because I always put way too much on my cotton pad. But on the other hand, it is nice for cleaning up with a brush, you just dip your brush in it and you're good to go!
(I'm using a different nailpolish remover for my clean ups btw)

This works fine for me. Not good, not bad, just normal. Removes polish as it should do. What I do like about this one, is that it makes my nails feel super soft. With some (non acetone) removers, I experienced getting very dry nails.

Overall I like this product. I would buy it again, not only for its price (€1.29), but also for it scent, and it works as it should ^^
I think I'm going to buy an other when this one runs out, maybe the one with the coconut scent? I have yet to decide! haha

If you have any questions, please let me know! Thanks for reading :)

Nfu.Oh package!

Hello everyone :)

My Nfu.Oh package came in! :D I ordered from here.

The box:

Inside of the box...

Sadly no bubblewrap or anything, but they all arrived without a scratch so I guess it's ok...

The polishes!! So pretty!

A topcoat, aqua base, 38, 51, 52, 54, 60, 61, 64 and a mosaic topcoat.

Overall I'm pleased. They shipped out quick and it arrived in a week. Paid €9,60 for shipping, which isn't too bad for international shipping. Nothing more to say about this store... If you have any questions, let me know :)

Thanks for reading!

Review: TIGI Bed Head Superstar Shampoo&Conditioner

Hello everyone! :)

I'm going to do a review of the TIGI Bed Head Superstar Shampoo and conditioner! I have been using these for a few weeks now, and I'm quite pleased with it!

Price

Whenever I saw a review of TIGI products, I often saw comments that people thought it was too expensive, so I like to start this review with the price.
I bought these two bottles as a set from eBay for about €30,-. Which means €15 per bottle of 750ml, which is a lot of product! A "regular" shampoo bottle contains around 250ml, so three times less. 15/3=€5, which isn't too much right? I looked around in my local supermarket and it was cheaper than John Frieda and Guhl (Just a few examples). Of course it's more expensive than most of the drugstore brands, but I think it's more than worth it!

Scent
This stuff smells simply amazing. AMAZING!! Everytime I wash my hair I get happy about this scent (ok, I'm kinda weird? :P). It's smells somewhat like strawberry candy, but not that nauseating sweet scent candy sometimes has, you know what I mean?
And it stays in your hair for a few hours, which is also nice. I smelled my pillow (again, weird?) and I could smell the scent of the shampoo+conditioner! :D

Consistency

On the left the shampoo, on the right the conditioner

The consistency is kind off thick of both. I'm not really used to it, so the first time I used wayyyyy too much product. Now I only use one pump of each for my whole hair.
Nothing much to say about this.. haha

Packaging

I think the packaging is cute. A big pink bottle, simple but still cute. I also like the pump on it, it makes it easier to dose. Yep, 10 out of 10 for me!
Maybe it's too big to take with you when you go on vacation or sleepovers, but I don't really mind about that. They also sell smaller bottles, but those don't come with the pump.

Volumizing?

But does it do what it promises? Does it volumize?
I have to admit, at first I was really disappointed. I still had flat, liveless hair. But I didn't give up, and now I see the results. My hair does have more volume and it looks healthier.
I don't blowdry my hair regularly, but if I do now, I don't have to put a volumizing mousse or whatever in it, the shampoo+conditioner already done the trick!

Overall I'm pleased. I would recommend these products to people with volume problems! And really, the smell, I like it soooo much!
I can't think about a negative... Hmm, maybe that it takes a few weeks for the volumizing effect to kick in? Think that's all... haha

I hope you enjoyed my review and let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks for reading! :)
