Crackling Michelle

Hallo iedereen!

Misschien kunnen sommige van jullie je nog wel herinneren dat ik een hele tijd geleden had geschreven over dat mijn OPI Black Shatter "het niet meer deed". Vervolgens had ik wat rondgevraagd op internet en kwam ik erachter dat je het flesje gewoon goed moest schudden en hij deed het weer!

Ik had echter nooit het "bewijs" laten zien, so here it is!

Dus mocht jouw crackle lakje het niet meer zo goed doen, of helemaal niet, probeer hem eens goed te schudden! :)

OPI: Mermaid's Tears

Hello everybody!

En hier is dan eindelijk de laatste swatch van de OPI - Pirates of the Caribbean collectie! Dit is Mermaid's Tears en ik draag twee laagjes.

So here it is, the very last of the OPI - Pirates of the Caribbean collection! This is Mermaid's Tears and I'm wearing two coats.

Ik vind dit echt een leuk kleurtje! Ik ben niet echt goed in het beschrijven van kleuren, dus laten we het er maar op houden dat het een heel mooi groen/blauwachtig lakje is!

En met Silver Shatter:

I really like this colour! I'm not very good with describing colours, so let's just say it's a gorgeous green/blueish polish!

Ook heel erg mooi! Ik weet echt niet of ik dit lakje nou mooier vind met, of zonder Silver Shatter. Ik denk dat ik het beide even leuk vind! Wat vinden jullie?

OPI: Stranger Tides

Hello everybody!

Dit is OPI - Stranger Tides en ik draag twee laagjes. Eerst wilde ik dit lakje niet kopen, maar omdat ik een verzamelaar ben, had ik toch maar de hele collectie gekocht :P En ik ben blij dat ik dat gedaan heb! Ik vind dit kleurtje veel leuker dan dat ik had verwacht!

This is OPI - Stranger Tides and I'm wearing two coats. At first, I didn't want to get this, but because I'm a collector, I decided to get the whole collection :P And I'm happy that I did! I like this colour a lot more than I expected!

En met Silver Shatter. Silver Shatter is denk ik echt mijn favoriete crackle lak op dit moment! Ok, ik heb alleen nog Black Shatter... Maar ik baseer dit op de swatches die ik heb gezien van andere crackle lakjes! ;)

Ik kan niet wachten tot de China Glaze Crackle Glaze Metals uitkomen! Ik denk dat ik gewoon van glimmende lakjes houd ;)

OPI - Planks a Lot

Hello everybody!

Dit is OPI - Planks a Lot, en ik draag twee laagjes. Dit is een heel mooi paars/lila kleurtje, ik wilde altijd al zo'n soort kleurtje in mijn collectie hebben, maar ik heb het nooit gekocht... Ik ben echt blij dat ik eindelijk zo'n kleur als deze in mijn bezit heb!

This is OPI - Planks a Lot, and I'm wearing two coats. This is a very nice purple/lilac colour, I always wanted to get a colour like this, but I never did... I'm really happy to own one right now!

En weer met Silver Shatter. Ik merkte dat er wat droge stukjes nagellak aan het randje van het flesje zaten (bij de opening dus zeg maar :P), wat eigenlijk altijd gebeurt met alle crackles die ik tot nu toe heb geprobeerd. Gelukkig zag ik het voordat ik de lak echt op had gedaan, zodat ik het van te voren kon schoonmaken. Anders kan je droge stukjes lak op je manicure krijgen, en dat is natuurlijk niet zo mooi!

And with Silver Shatter again. I noticed some dry polish on the edges of the bottle, which happens with all the crackles I own. Luckily I noticed it before I actually applied it, so I cleaned it beforehand. Otherwise there might be dry lumps on your manicure, and that's not too pretty!

Mijn 'normale' camera had wat problemen met deze kleur, dus ik heb ook een foto gemaakt met mijn oude camera. De kleur komt op deze foto een beetje te donker over, en de eerste foto is een beetje te licht... Dus de kleur zit er eigenlijk tussenin.. haha. Maar geloof me, het is echt een mooi lakje!

My 'normal' camera had some problems with this colour, so I took a picture with my old camera as well. This picture is a bit too dark, and the first picture is a bit too light... So imagine the colour to be in between.. haha. But trust me, it's really pretty!

OPI - Sparrow me the Drama

Hello everybody!

Begint er al iets op te vallen? ;) Dit is OPI - Sparrow me the Drama en ik draag twee laagjes. Ik vind roze lakjes bijna altijd leuk, dus dit lakje ook!

Starting to see a pattern here? ;) This is OPI - Sparrow me the Drama and I'm wearing two coats. I like pink polishes, so I like this polish too!

En hier een foto met Silver Shatter erbij. Ik denk dat dit mijn favoriete combinatie is tot nu toe! Het aanbrengen van Silver Shatter ging een beetje mis op mijn pink, vandaar dat hij niet zo mooi gecracked is op die nagel.

In de vorige posts was ik vergeten te zeggen dat ik altijd topcoat gebruik met Silver Shatter. Zonder topcoat voelt het lakje een beetje... ruw? Ik weet niet echt hoe ik het moet uitleggen, maar het voelt dan in ieder geval alles behalve glad haha! Silver Shatter glimt ook meer met topcoat, dus dat is altijd goed ^^

And with Silver Shatter on top. I think this is my favorite combination so far! I kinda ioverlaped on my pinky, so that's why it's not so crackly on that nail.

I forgot to mention in the other posts, but I also use topcoat with the Silver Shatter. Without it, it feels a bit.. rough? I don't really know how to explain, but it feels anything but smooth haha! Also, it shines more with topcoat applied, so that's always good ^^

OPI: Steady as she Rose

En het volgende Pirates of the Caribbean lakje! Dit is Steady as she Rose en ik draag drie laagjes.

Het is een heel licht, zacht roze lakje, heel erg mooi! ^^

En met Silver Shatter. Nogmaals, ik vind deze combinatie echt leuk! Ik vind Steady as she Rose ook leuk op zichzelf, maar ik begin echt verliefd te raken op Silver Shatter! Wat vinden jullie?

OPI: Skull & Glossbones

En mijn eerste swatch van de OPI - Pirates of the Caribbean collectie! Dit is Skull & Glossbones en ik draag drie laagjes. Het lakje was eigenlijk al dekkend met twee laagjes, maar ik had wat strepen, dus ik besloot om nog een laagje toe te voegen.

And my first swatch of the OPI - Pirates of the Caribbean collection! This is Skull & Glossbones and I'm wearing three coats. It was mostly opaque in two coats, but I had some streaking so I added a third coat.

Het is een heel licht grijs lakje, heel mooi! En ik besloot natuurlijk ook om Silver Shatter toe te voegen:

It's a very light grey polish, very pretty! And of course, I decided to add silver shatter on top:

Ik vind dit lakje erg mooi samen met Silver Shatter! Silver shatter is erg sparkly en knalt er echt uit tegen het licht grijze! De manier waarop hij cracked vind ik ook erg mooi, mooie grote 'gaten' :)

In my opinion, this polish looks really pretty combined with silver shatter. Silver shatter is so sparkly and really pops against the pale grey! I also like the way it cracks, nice and big gaps :)

Wat vinden jullie van dit lakje? En van Silver Shatter, yay or nay? Er zijn heel veel crackle lakjes, en er komen er nog meer... Maar ik vind deze echt leuk! Hij glinstert mooi en het geeft een mooi contrast tegen lakjes zoals Skull & Glossbones.

What do you think of this polish? And of Silver shatter, yay or nay? There are a lot of crackle polishes out there, with even more to come... But I really like this one! It's really nice and sparkly and it gives a nice contrast to polishes like Skull & Glossbones.

NOTD: OPI Not Like the Movies

Ik nam een kijkje in mijn collectie en ik zag dat ik nog niet alle lakjes uit de OPI Katy Perry collectie had geswatched! Dus hier is het lakje wat ik nog niet had gedaan: OPI - Not like the Movies. Ik draag drie laagjes.

I went through my collection and I noticed I didn't swatch all of the OPI Katy Perry polishes! So here's the one that I didn't do yet: OPI - Not like the Movies. I'm wearing three coats.

Mooi toch? :D Omdat dit een Katy Perry lakje is, voelde ik mij een beetje verplicht om Black Shatter erover heen te doen. Ik had deze al een tijdje niet gebruikt, en kijk wat er gebeurde...

Really pretty right? :D Because this is a Katy Perry polish, I felt obliged to put Black Shatter on top. I hadn't used shatter in a while, and look what happened...

Inderdaad, er gebeurde bijna niets. Ik werd er helemaal gefrustreerd van en werd zelfs boos op het lakje. Ik ging even rondvragen op internet en iemand vertelde mij dat het kon helpen als je het lakje goed schudde. Zo gezegd, zo gedaan, en hij doet het weer! :D Dus als jouw Black Shatter het ooit niet meer goed doet... Gewoon even schudden!

Yes, almost nothing happened. I freaked out and got angry with the polish. I asked around on the internet and somebody told me I should shake the bottle really good... So I did, and it worked again! :D So if your black shatter doesn't work properly... Just shake it!

Hello everybody!

Dit is Teenage Dream van OPI en ik draag drie laagjes. Het is een licht roze glitterlakje met wat holografische glitter erin!

This is Teenage Dream by OPI and I'm wearing three coats. It's a light pink glitter polish with some holographic glitter thrown in!

In de zon. Ik vind dit lakje echt mooi. Het is roze, meisjesachtig en sparkly. Ik bleef er maar naar kijken. In eerste instantie wilde ik er geen Black Shatter overheen doen, ik was bang dat het de mooiheid van dit lakje zou verpesten. Maar ik probeerde het toch, ik was nieuwsgierig...

In the sun. I really think this is pretty. It's pink and girly and sparkly. I kept looking at it, I think it's quite flattering.. At first I didn't want to put Black Shatter over it, I was afraid it would ruin the prettyness of this polish. But I did it anyway, I was curious...

Not bad toch? Ik denk dat ik dit lakje leuker vind zonder Black Shatter, maar hij heeft het in ieder geval niet verpest. Maar ja, je moet wel van het crackle effect houden natuurlijk.

Not that bad right? I think I like this polish better on its own, but Black Shatter didn't ruin it. But then again, you have to like the crackle effect.

Teenage Dream is een lakje uit de Katy Perry collectie. OPI zou eigenlijk nog een Katy Perry collectie moeten doen, en dan een lakje maken met de naam Fireworks. Fireworks op je nagels, dat moet toch leuk zijn? :D

Battle of the crackles: Barry M and OPI

Hello everybody!

Hier is dan mijn vergelijking tussen de Barry M en de OPI crackle nagellak! Ik heb het niet zo netjes aangebracht op mijn wijsvinger, maar negeer dat alsjeblieft! :P

Wijs- en ringvinger: Barry M

Middelvinger en pink: OPI

Here it is, my comparison post between the crackles from OPI and Barry M! I messed up on my index finger, please ignore that!

Index and ring: Barry M
Middle and pinky: OPI

Je ziet meteen dat er een verschil tussen de 2 is. Ik heb ze op dezelfde manier aangebracht (het kwastje 'afvegen' aan één kant en dan de nagellak aanbrengen). De crackle van OPI is dunner, dus ik denk dat daarom de crackles kleiner zijn.

De crackle van Barry M irriteert me steeds meer en meer. Misschien is het gewoon mijn flesje, maar het is echt dik aan het worden. Ik heb de lak proberen te verdunnen, maar het hielp niet echt. Ik vind de grote crackles die hij geeft leuk, maar het feit dat de lak zo dik is irriteert me echt! Heeft iemand van jullie ook de Barry M Instant Nail Effects? Want ik ben benieuwd of ik gewoon een 'slecht flesje' heb, of dat het echt aan de formule van de lak ligt! Laat alsjeblieft een reactie achter bij de comments! :)

Ik wil nog steeds de crackles van China Glaze hebben! Het liefst bestel ik CG op Transdesign, dus ik heb stiekem een mailtje gestuurd om te vragen wanneer ze back in stock zijn. Je bent hebberig/verslaafd of je bent het niet he! :P

You can see that there is a difference between them, I applied them the same way (wiping the polish of on one side of the brush and then apply it). The OPI one is thinner in consistency, so I think that's why the crackles are smaller.

The Barry M one is annoying me more and more. Maybe it's just my bottle, but it's really thick and groopy. I tried to use a thinner, but it didn't help much. I like the big cracks it gives, but the consistency just kills me. Are there any more Barry M instant effects owners here? Because I would love to know if I just have a bad bottle, or that it is the formula of the polish! Please let me know in the comments down below! :)

Which one is your favorate judging from the pictures?

I still want the crackles from China Glaze. I prefer to order CG from Transdesign, so I send them an email asking them when the polishes are going to be back in stock. You're greedy/addicted or not, right? :P

OPI - Black Shatter and TOTGA

Ik denk niet dat ik de slimste persoon ooit ben. Ik dacht dat ik deze post geplanned had zodat hij donderdag online zou komen. Maar ik had natuurlijk op "opslaan" gedrukt in plaats van op "publiceren". Fail! Sorry, maar hier is de post alsnog! :P

I think I'm not the brightest person ever. I though I scheduled this post to go online on thuersday, but I pressed "safe" in stead of "publice". Fail! So sorry, but here it is! :P

Dit is OPI - The one that got Away (TOTGA) met Black Shatter eroverheen. Dit is de eerste keer dat ik OPI black shatter gebruik, en tot nu toe kan ik al zeggen dat het mij beter bevalt dan de crackle van Barry M!

Ik denk dat ik snel een vergelijking tussen deze en die van Barry M ga doen!

Dit is Take me to your Chateau van Color Club. Ik draag twee laagjes.

This is Take me to your chateau from Color Club. I'm wearing two coats.

Het is een mooi lichtblauw kleurtje! Natuurlijk wilde ik mijn Barry M crackle lakje weer proberen en hier is het resultaat:

It's a nice pale blue colour! Of course I wanted to try my Barry M crackle polish again and here's the result:

Ik heb het niet echt perfect aangebracht, maar ik vind het nog steeds leuk!

I didn't apply it perfectly, but I still like it!

En heeft het verdunnen geholpen? Nou, de lak is wel dunner, maar ik heb nog steeds het probleem met de "klontjes". Misschien werk ik niet snel genoeg, of misschien is het gewoon mijn flesje, ik weet het niet. Dus het is soms best moeilijk om mee te werken, maar ik vind het effect nog steeds leuk!

Made the thinner this polish any better? Well, it is thinner, but I still have the "lump" problem. Maybe I'm not working fast enough, or maybe it's just my bottle, I don't know. So it's kind of hard to work with, but I still like the effect!

NOTD: Crackled Amour

Ik gebruik mijn crackle lakje eigenlijk niet zo vaak, maar de laatste tijd zie ik veel swatches van de China Glaze Crackle collectie, waardoor ik weer eens het effect op mijn eigen nagels wilde zien! Het basislakje is I believe in Amour van Color Club.

Ik heb alleen Barry M Instant Nail effects in mijn bezit.

I don't use crackle that much, but I've seen a lot of swatches of the China Glaze Crackle collection, so I wanted to see some crackle on my own nails again! The basecolour is I believe in Amour by Color Club.

I only own Barry M Instant Nail Effects at the moment.

Ik vind het effect echt leuk over zo'n lichte kleur!

Maar... De Barry M crackle lak begint echt heel erg dik te worden. Het droogt heel snel en soms heb ik al droge "stukjes" lak aan het kwastje voordat er al wat lak zit op mijn nagel... Gebeurt dit ook met crackles van andere merken?

Ik heb er wat nagellakverdunner in gedaan om te kijken of het zo beter werkt. Ik zal het lakje snel weer proberen en dan zal ik het jullie laten weten!

I really like the effect over such a light colour!

But... The Barry M crackle polish is getting really thick and groopy. It dries really fast and sometimes I had dry lumps of polish on the brush before there was any polish on my nail... Does this happen with crackles from other brands too?

I put some thinner in it, I'm curious if it makes the consistency better. I will try it again soon and I'll let you know!

NOTD and FailOTD

Hello everybody!

First of all, excuse my pictures... I don't know how it happened, but my nailpolish started to chip during work. Normally I don't have any problems at all... My right hand was more "damaged" than my left, lucky for me, 'cause I don't like to take pictures of my right hand :P

This is China Glaze's Sci Fi and on top of that is the Barry M Nail Effects.

NOTD: Diamond Cosmetics Hot Summer Pink

Hello everybody!

No halloween nails here, I don't celebrate Halloween and I'm not really creative enough to come up with a design.

Instead, I did a pink NOTD, a very pink NOTD... It's october, so it's breast cancer awareness month. But I didn't wear pink yet... So here it is!

This is Hot Summer Pink by Diamond Cosmetics. As you can see it's a very bright pink! I took these pictures after work on saturday, and it was already dark :( So the picture above is not that great...

This colour has a blue undertone, which makes the polish a cool toned polish. You will really stand out wearing this colour! haha

After work I decided to apply the Nail Effects from Barry M. I was curious how it would look with a bright pink like this, and it didn't disappoint me!

I didn't apply topcoat on my index finger and ring finger, but you can't really see the matte effect here. Also, the matte effect of the crackling polish wasn't super noticable anymore after a few hours. Maybe it's because of the moistering creme I used?

You may have noticed that the nail on my middle finger is cracked. As I am typing now, it has broken off :( The nails on my middle fingers are really weak, I don't understand it all.. It's annoying because my nails are uneven now. But I guess I'll just have to live with it for the next few weeks? ;)

NOTD: Crackling Ivanka

Hello everybody!

First of all, excuse my bad pictures! I took them in low lightning and the nail on my middle finger decided to chip. I had an "accident" at work, my finger got stuck between to boxes and as I pulled my finger out, it took away some of my polish.

This is Zoya's Ivanka with the Barry M Nail effects.

It was fascinating to see this polish dry. You put on a full coat of polish, and then it just starts to "crackle".

This polish dries matte. I didn't really liked the matte effect over Zoya Ivanka so I decided to apply a shiny topcoat.

I kinda have the feeling the Barry M also gave me instant tipwear. Or maybe it's just me, I don't really know. But maybe because of the effects it shrunk a little? But it's not that bad, on the pictures the tipwear is worse than after I applied it, because I already wore this for a couple of days, and of course I worked with this mani.

I like this polish. I don't have any other crackling polishes, so I can't compare. But overall I'm pleased with this one!
