Glitter polish removal

Hello everybody!

Today I am going to remove Teenage Dream using dissolvant for artificial nails. I bought this at a local drugstore for 5 euros. There is a shocking picture in the end from my bare nails, so sorry for that! :P

En zo ziet er uit aan de binnenkant. Er zit speciale kunstnagelremover in. Je moet dus gewoon je vinger erin doen, en dan je vinger ronddraaien van links naar rechts tot de nagellak weg is.

It looks like this from the inside. There is some special artificial nailremover inside. You have to put your finger in there, and then rotate your finger until the polish is gone. So let's try it out!

Hoe halen jullie glitterlakjes eraf?
Bedankt voor het kijken! :)

The result. Shocking picture I know, it made my cuticles drier than a desert. And my nails are stained yes, but it looks worse in this picture. I tried to make the staining less bad, but no success.
I think using this method is easier than putting nailpolish remover on a cottonpad and leave it on your nails. You have to rotate quite a bit, but to me it's less of a hassle than putting cottonpads around my fingers.

After I washed my hands and applied some Lemony Flutter, my cuticles looked happy again. So overall, I like this way! I don't know how often you can use this, when I have another glitter polish on, I will try it again to see if it still works.

How do you remove glitter polishes?
Thanks for stopping by today! :)

How I remove glitter polishes

Hello everybody!

Today's post is about how I remove polishes that are somewhat harder to remove than your regular cremes.

First, what you'll need:

Nailpolish remover (I use the one with acetone, because in my experience it works better with glitters and stuff), cotton pads and some scissors!

Next you're going to cut the cotton pads in quarters, so four pieces per cotton pad. You'll need ten pieces.

Then you're going to put some nailpolish remover on the pads. Usually I put on a lot, but I had to take pictures this time during the proces, so I used a little bit less to prefend that my camera got soaked! :P
So it worked a little less good, but still pretty ok!

You put one piece of the cotton pad on each nail and press it on. I usually keep on pressing the whole time, until I see that the pad has gotten the colour of the polish.
So sit back and relax, watch a short video on youtube and keep on pressing.

And now it's time to take them off!

Not all of it came off, this is because I didn't use enough remover and because of the glitter. Also I had a lot of layers of polish on. (2 coats of Take the Stage, topcoat, 2 coats of Extra-va-vaganza, topcoat, so in total 6 layers!)
I use the piece again to remove the rest of the polish, which is really easy to do, if you don't like to "re-use" pieces, you can always take another one.

In the end, you'll end up with something like this:

I know that there are also people who do this with aluminium foil wrapped around their fingers. I don't notice much of a difference when I wrap my fingers in foil after I put on the cotton pads, so I don't do this anymore because it takes more time.

I hope you found this post interesting and thanks for stopping by! :)

Review: Essence Strawberry Nailpolish Remover

Hello everybody!

Today I'm doing a small review of the Essence nailpolish remover, the nail hardening one.

Yes, the bottle in the picture is empty, but that's because I transferred it to my remover dispenser ;)

So, what it says it does:

I don't really think it helps me with strengthning my nails, but overall I have pretty strong nails so I didn't bought it for that reason. I just wanted to have a nice smelling nailpolish remover! Lol.
When I first smelled this I didn't like it at all. Very chemical and weird... But when I used it, I started to like it! I was done doing my nails, and I smelled something on my hands.. Something sweet and candylike. I couldn't figure it out, but then it hit me... It was the scent of the nailpolish remover! So, in my opinion it smells nice when you use it, but when you smell it from the bottle, it's just weird...

The bottle comes with a big.. Hole? Thingy? I don't really like big ones, because I always put way too much on my cotton pad. But on the other hand, it is nice for cleaning up with a brush, you just dip your brush in it and you're good to go!
(I'm using a different nailpolish remover for my clean ups btw)

This works fine for me. Not good, not bad, just normal. Removes polish as it should do. What I do like about this one, is that it makes my nails feel super soft. With some (non acetone) removers, I experienced getting very dry nails.

Overall I like this product. I would buy it again, not only for its price (€1.29), but also for it scent, and it works as it should ^^
I think I'm going to buy an other when this one runs out, maybe the one with the coconut scent? I have yet to decide! haha

If you have any questions, please let me know! Thanks for reading :)
